You Can't Manage What You Don't Measure

Training, like life, has ups and downs. During those ruts, it's normal to feel like you're going nowhere. You may even feel like you haven't made any progress and there's no point continuing to exercise.

A couple of tools we use at On Track are tracking our member's workouts and occasionally doing benchmark tests. We use workout journals to track sets, reps, and weights of every workout we do.

Some of the benchmark tests include: max push-ups (assisted or unassisted), one rep max squat, and two minute sit-up. These are designed to asses if someone is getting results from our programs.

The workout journal allows us to look back at where each member started and compare it to where they are. This way we have an objective way of seeing progress (i.e. it keeps things in perspective).

Sometimes it's hard to see the ground you've covered. Start measuring your journey in some way, and use it to stay on track when things get tough.
